BY ASSOCIATE PASTOR BRIAN JACK

In some congregations and contexts the Sunday after Easter Sunday is called Holy Humor Sunday, or if you’re going back even further “Bright Sunday.”

Opposing the wind project

I’m asking you to reject the Red Rock/Invenergy Wind project as it will adversely affect the county natural resources and violate our sacred historical land: The Iowa Great Lakes Region.

LIVING WORD OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Concerning answered prayer, have you ever found this to be true? We often create a target that we expect God to hit, and when He doesn’t jump through our hoops, we toss away our faith, saying, “This faith stuff doesn’t work for me!”

Pipeline discussion

To the editor and Bonnie Ewoldt,

The reason the Iowa Senators refuse to address the pipelines: Remember what happened to the GOP legislators who opposed (Gov. Kim) Reynold’s school choice laws? She managed to get them primaried. They are gone and we have taxpayers paying for private schooling.

Energy policies

Renewable energy has massive economic benefits for Iowa communities, many of which have seen continuous population decline that shows no sign of slowing. Harvesting wind brings crucial tax dollars that help infrastructure, schools, hospitals, businesses, and workers, many of whom are veterans. Our lawmakers, Sen. Chuck Grassley and Sen. Joni Ernst, Rep.

DCTA gives world class presentation

Dickinson County Taxpayers Association gave a very professional presentation on why Dickinson County Board of Supervisors must reduce its General Levy from (fiscal year 24/25) 3.39806 to (fiscal year 25/26) 2.45.

Mike Fergen followed up with another world class presentation of why the (fiscal year 25/26) General Levy must be reduced to 2.45.

You got what you voted for

Day 1 or “very quickly,” consumer prices will decline, the Ukraine war will be ended, inflation will be a thing of the past, all international trade rip-offs to America end leading to re-birth of USA manufacturing and jobs, borders locked down and deportations expanded (to fight fentanyl), fossil fuel exploitation to negate alternative energy sources; all leading to America’s “best economy ever!” What a bunch of hogwash!
