Funeral services were held recently for Richard L. Schultz, 77, of Spirit Lake who passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Hilltop Care Center.
Richard was born in Bronson, to John and Elsie Schultz. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Jan. 23, 1925 - March 15, 2009
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 11 at Little Rock cemetery for Claretta H. Rehms, who passed away March 15 due to complications after a car accident on March 15, 2009. A reception will follow at her cottage at Lake Okoboji.

Jan. 15, 1920 - March 9, 2009
Funeral services were held Friday, March 13 at the Mason Funeral home in Pleasantville for Lewis Maynard Boers, 89, who passed away March 9 at his home.
Pastor Don Hill officiated. A Masonic Service was held March 12 for Boers. Lewis was cremated following the funeral service and burial was in the Pleasantville Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by the Pleasantville American Legion Post No. 108 and the United States Navy.

June 5, 1919 - March 7, 2009
Funeral services were held March 18 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park for Dale W. Bastman, 89, who passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, S.D. from a Hemorrhagic stroke suffered on Jan. 26.
Rev. Chris Ebbers officiated. Interment was at the Silver Lake Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Lake Park and Sioux Valley American Legion.

- Jennifer Renee Brown, 33, of Spirit Lake was arrested for OWI - second offense at 2:26 a.m. March 4.
- Moises Astello, 25, of Estherville was arrested on a warrant for third degree sexual abuse (felony) and a warrant for probation violation at 1:45 a.m. March 5.
- Charlie John Bladeras, 25, of Houston, Texas was arrested for OWI and open container at 2:23 a.m. March 7.

A celebration of life service was held March 13 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake for Philip F. H. Pugh, M.D. of Sioux City and Lake Okoboji, who passed away March 6, 2009.

Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at the Union Memorial Church in Milford for Letitia (Northey) Lawson, 112, who passed away Feb. 22.
Rev. Karl Whiteman officiated. Interment was at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.

**Arrest made in Terril knife incident
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was called to the Refuge bar in Terril on March 7 at about 11:31 p.m. Officers responded and arrested Loren Miller, 58, of Milford.

June 29, 2917 - Feb. 28, 2009
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 4 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo for Permilla "Pam" Farmer, 91, of Friendship Village, who passed away at Cedar Valley Hospice Home Saturday, Feb. 28 following a brief illness. Burial was at the Waterloo Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Donald Dale Howard, 95, of Maryville, Mo. who passed away on March 5, 2009 at Parkdale Manor Healthcare in Maryville.
Donald was born Dec. 27, 1913, the son of George Earl and Rose Margaret (Gruber) Howard. A 1931 graduate of Shenandoah High School Shenandoah, Don married Dorlea Elizabeth Snodgrass March 2, 1938 in Shenandoah.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. March 11 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church for Dr. Kurt J. Sunner, 70, who passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Dec. 28, 1935 - March 2, 2009
A celebration of life service was held March 7 at the Little Swan Lake Winery in Superior for Robert C. von Holdt, 73, of Lake Park, who passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at the Fairmont Hospital in Fairmont, Minn.
He was born on Dec. 28, 1935, in Round Lake, Minn., to Jacob and Evelyn von Holdt.

Feb. 4, 1921 - March 1, 2009
Funeral services were held March 5 at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls for Olga B. Wieme, 88, of Sioux Falls, S.D., who passed away March 1, 2009, at Sanford / USD Medical Center.
Interment was at the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, Minn.
Olga was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Battle Lake, Minn., to Ole and Bertha (Larson) Nergaard. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1940.
