Harris-Lake Park’s softball team ran into a buzzsaw Monday night, as the Wolves dropped a home game to third-ranked (1A) Remsen St. Mary’s. The Hawks topped the Wolves 11-0 in Lake Park.

After two scoreless innings, Remsen St. Mary’s plated six in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth to end the night early.

Wolves softball drops two at Storm Lake tourney


Harris-Lake Park’s softball team went 0-2 at a tournament hosted by Storm Lake on Saturday, June 3. The Wolves fell 7-4 to Denison-Schleswig and 11-0 to AHSTW.

In their loss to the Monarchs, the Wolves opened with a 1-0 lead after a run in the opening frame. However, Denison-Schleswig answered with a run in the second and another in the third to take a 2-1 advantage.

Okoboji’s softball team suffered its third consecutive defeat Friday, June 2, as the Pioneers fell to Central Lyon in Rock Rapids. The Lions scored five runs in the opening frame, added one in the second and three in the third to earn a 9-2 win over the Pioneers.
