Harris-Lake Park boys golf falls to South O’Brien

Harris-Lake Park’s boys golf team dropped a War Eagle Conference road match to South O’Brien on Thursday, April 28. The Wolverines defeated the Wolves 178-199 in Primghar.

Lucas Ahrenstorff and Braydan Perkins both carded rounds of 45 to place third for the Wolves. Carter Hibma  (52) and Landon Greve (57) rounded out Harris-Lake Park’s scoring. Chayce Forbes carded a 60 on the day.

Harris-Lake Park’s girls golf team came up short in a War Eagle Conference meet with South O’Brien on Thursday, April 28. The Wolverines topped the Wolves 212-224 in Primghar.

SL-O girls tennis earns wins over Cherokee

The Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls tennis team earned a pair of wins over Cherokee on Tuesday, April 26. The two teams squared off in a doubleheader after their previous meeting was postponed because of weather. The Indians defeated the Braves 7-2 and 6-3 at Speier Park in Okoboji.

SL-O boys tennis tops Tornadoes

The Spirit Lake-Okoboji boys tennis team earned a Lakes Conference road win over Storm Lake on Tuesday, April2 6. SL-O defeated the Tornadoes 8-1 in Storm Lake.

Spirit Lake’s girls golf team earned a Lakes Conference home win over Estherville Lincoln Central on Tuesday, April 26. The Indians defeated the Midgets 190-233 at Okoboji View.

Spirit Lake’s boys golf team earned a win over Algona but fell to Estherville Lincoln Central at a meet held Tuesday, April 26. The Indians carded a 180 on the day. Algona carded a 203 and ELC carded a 166 at Estherville Golf Course.

Harris-Lake Park’s boys golf team earned a victory over Trinity Christian but fell to Gehlen Catholic at a War Eagle Conference triangular meet held Tuesday, April 26 in Le Mars. The Jays carded a 182 while the Wolves shot a 212 and the Tigers shot a 221 on the day.

Harris-Lake Park’s girls golf team dropped a War Eagle Conference meet to Gehlen Catholic on Tuesday, April 26. The Jays topped the Wolves 210-222 in Le Mars.

Rylie Wittrock led the Wolves with a runner-up medalist round of 47. Zella Ingham placed third with her round of 52. Tessa Gunderson (61) and Miranda Christenson (62) rounded out the Wolves’ scoring. Madeline Greve carded a 68 for Harris-Lake Park.

Okoboji boys golf places 7th at Rock Rapids

Okoboji’s boys golf team placed seventh at a Siouxland Conference meet held Tuesday, April 26 at Rock Rapids. The Pioneers carded a combined round of 190 at Rock River Golf & Country Club.

Mason Dahms led Okoboji with his round of 44. RJ Kalsow (45), Koleton Simington (48) and Coen Rabel (53) rounded out the Pioneers’ team score. Ryan Pile carded a 56 and Elliot Tuttle carded a 58 for Okoboji.

Okoboji girls golf places 5th at Sibley

Okoboji’s girls golf team placed fifth at a Siouxland Conference golf meet hosted by Sibley-Ocheyedan on Tuesday, April 26. The Pioneers carded a combined round of 208 to finish five strokes behind meet champion West Lyon at Sibley Golf & Country Club.

Indians win 2022 Okoboji Co-Ed Relays

The 2022 Okoboji Co-Ed Relays were rescheduled because of bad weather and relocated because of ongoing construction at Okoboji High School in Milford, but none of that could delay the inevitable — a dominant performance by the Spirit Lake boys track team.

The Spirit Lake Park girls track team earned a third-place finish at Tuesday’s 2022 Okoboji Co-Ed Relays held at Spirit Lake High School. The Indians collected 13 top-three finishes, crowned four champions, and totaled 134 points on the day.
