Harris-Lake Park’s baseball team fell behind early but rallied late in a nonconference contest with Hinton on Friday, June 17. Unfortunately, the Wolves’ rally was cut short after coach Jared Rahe used an ineligible pitcher and Hinton emerged with a 9-7 victory over Harris-Lake Park in Hinton.

Slow start dooms Pioneers in loss to Cougars

Okoboji’s softball team got out to a slow start and Manson-Northwest Webster took advantage during a nonconference contest played Thursday, June 16. The Cougars crushed the Pioneers 14-4 in Milford.

Manson-Northwest Webster built a 14-0 lead with four runs in the first, four more in the third and six in the fourth. Okoboji pushed four runs across in the bottom half of the fourth, but it wasn’t enough.

Indians baseball drops 10-run loss to Tigers

Spencer’s offense was on fire from the opening frame Wednesday night in a Lakes Conference baseball battle with Spirit Lake. The Tigers scored nine runs in the first inning of an 18-8 victory over the Indians in Spencer.

After starting the season 13-2 and moving into the Class 3A rankings, Spirit Lake’s softball squad suffered its fifth loss in seven games — and, subsequently, dropped out of the rankings – following a Lakes Conference road loss to rival Spencer on Wednesday, June 15. The Tigers topped the Indians 6-2 in Spencer.
