Spirit Lake’s hot start cools with loss to Wildcats

After outscoring its opponents 47-12 during a 3-0 start to the season, Spirit Lake’s baseball team suffered its first defeat in a road game with West Lyon. The Wildcats topped the Indians 10-0 in Larchwood.

“A really good test against a good program,” Spirit Lake coach Ross Ackerman said. “I thought it was really just one inning that fell apart for us. Otherwise, just good to see what we need to work on to get better. Their pitcher did a great job of keeping us unbalanced.”
