Spirit Lake’s baseball team saw its season come to an end Saturday, July 13 in the semifinal round of the Class 2A substate tournament. The Indians squared off with Lakes Conference rival Estherville Lincoln Central in Estherville for a trip to the substate championship. The Midgets topped Spirit Lake 5-4 to advance.
