Gary Ellis Jones, age 67, of Spirit Lake was arrested on the charge of operating while under the influence at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, near Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake. According to the criminal complaint, Jones was involved in a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Officers report that Jones admitted to having too much alcohol to drive. Jones had failed to stop at a stop sign northbound on Hill Avenue and 15th Street, leading to the accident.
