The May 7 arrival of REAL ID enforcement means travelers will need the new identification card to board commercial flights. Some federal facilities also require the new verification, according to Dickinson County Treasurer Kris Rowley.

"The easiest way to tell is to look at your license," Rowley said. "If there is a gold star in the right corner, it's a REAL ID."
