The last time Okoboji’s 4x400 meter relay team ran a final on the Blue Oval in Des Moines, Elijah Graves and Rhyker Wright couldn’t complete their split-second exchange and the Pioneers finished eighth at the Drake Relays.
Twenty-eight days later, they connected on their handoff and lifted the Class 2A team championship trophy.
