Michele Lynn “Mikki” Chew was born in Council Bluffs on June 27, 1972 to Tim and Nancy (Hansen) Chew. She passed away unexpectedly in her sleep of natural causes on Aug. 16, 2024.

She graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1990 where she participated on the swimming team and served as a class officer. She attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha while working as a secretary in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area.

A service for David Radcliffe, age 74, of Spirit Lake, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.  David passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2024 at his home in Spirit Lake. Turner Jenness Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A funeral service for Arlo Newman, 96, of Milford, Iowa, was held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji.  Interment was at Westport Township Cemetery. Arlo passed away on Aug. 7, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Milford. Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A service for June Irene Schoelerman, 95, of Lake Park, took place Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. June passed away Aug. 1 at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Our dear mother, Carla McClure, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 95. She was a wonderful mother of four children who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom, humor, and love in abundance. She never asked for attention but lived for serving others – a humble model for all of us follow.

Timothy Vern O'Brion, 72, went home to be with Jesus on July 24, 2024, at his home in Milford. A service was held Monday, July 29, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji.

James Roy Taylor born on July 15, 1988 in Garfield Heights, Ohio. James was known by his family and friends as “JT”.

James passed away unexpectedly from a medical issue on Monday, July 1, 2024 at his home in Oakwood, Georgia.

Rick Brons, age 61, of Lake Park passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A Prayer Service was held Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Lake Park Community Center, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering. Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Sue Crosby, age 75, of Lake Park, will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Sue passed away peacefully June 29, 2024 from cancer. Turner Jenness Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A service for Robert "Bob" Mann, 93, of Spirit Lake, was held Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Bob passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jo Coffey, age 86, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Mary Jo passed away July 19, 2024 at her home in Okoboji.

Sept. 5, 1934 — July 19, 2024

Edward Dean Hummel, age 89 of Spirit Lake, passed away on July 19, 2024 at Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa.  He was born on Sept. 5, 1934 in Cushing to Ed and Lena Hummel.

Dean was raised in Spirit Lake and graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1952. He was united in marriage to Elayne Stanton on April 20, 1955, in Spirit Lake. Dean joined the Army in February 1955 and was honorably discharged in August 1955.

A funeral service for Dennis Stahly, 64, of Round Lake, Minnesota, was held July 17 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Burial at Union Cemetery. Dennis passed away July 12, 2024 at his home in Round Lake. Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
