Clara Mae Bonstead, daughter of Albert and Genevieve (Laubenthal) Schealler, was born on Nov. 14, 1930, in Mallard. She passed away on Aug. 31, 2023, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, at the age of 92 years.

A memorial service for Mavis Hornick, age 73, of Lake Park was held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park.  Inurnment was in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.

Mavis passed away on Aug. 17, 2023 at her home in Lake Park.

Clarence Darryl Steen passed away Aug. 6, 2023, at his home in Terril, with his wife, son and daughter-in-law by his side.

He was born on his grandparents’ farm in Ocheyedan on Nov. 22, 1935, to George and Mae (Roskam) Steen. He spent his youth in the Ocheyedan, Sibley and Allendorf area. He attended Westmar College.

Richard Arthur Anderson, was born on July 9, 1931, in Sioux City. He was the beloved son of Arthur and Gertrude Anderson. Rich graduated from Leeds High School in 1949 and later joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1951 to 1955.

Ione Ruth Satory, age 91, of Livingston, Texas, formerly of Le Mars, died March 25, 2023. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20 in Epworth Hall at Monarch Cove of Spirit Lake (formerly the Methodist Camp).
