Kay Hearn Hess, age 90, of Spirit Lake passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at her winter home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Kay was born in Kingsley on April 19, 1931, to Raymond and Esther (Peters) Hearn. She was united in marriage to Raymond Arlo Hess of Kingsley on July 27, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The couple adopted their daughter, Mary, in October of 1959.
