A service for Marian Feldhacker, 95, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 26 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford, with Scripture Prayer Service at 5 p.m.

Safe Water International Ministries — or SWIM — collaborated with Spirit Lake Methodist Church on Friday, April 19 in the construction of 120 chlorine producing units to be sent out to African villages in need. Members of multiple community churches banded together to create the devices — dubbed CPUs — under the guidance of SWIM board members.

Officials with the Iowa Department of Transportation say phase 3 of the Highway 71 project is still on track for completion by May 24.

Members of the Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce recently visited Spirit Spa ahead of its April 21 grand opening. Owner Rose Nguyen said the spa offers manicures, pedicures, waxing and other spa services. She went on to say hot oil massages and hot stone massages are available as a package deal with the spa's manicure and pedicure treatments.
