Pints and pedals aplenty at annual Oktoberfest

Whether it was a bicycle ride 'round West Lake Okoboji or another round of drinks, visitors to the annual University of Okoboji Oktoberfest found plenty of fun Saturday. Several cyclists got into the spirit of things and looped the lake in lederhosen and other thematic costumes. The members of Shirts and Skins were no exception as they too donned festive garb to provide live musical entertainment during several of the day's competitions and other events. Participants pitted their skill, stamina and strength against one another during the bean bag tournament, stein-holding competition and keg toss. Youngsters had plenty to entertain themselves as well, such as inflatables and children's carnival rides — a few even tried their hand at the game of stumps. (Photos by Dave Petrick)
