LRH Hospice to offer grief support group

Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice is offering a grief support group for those who have experienced loss and are looking for support and connection from others with shared experiences.  
Hospice Social Worker Jean Johnson will facilitate the group.
“A lot of our patients and their families have asked for a support group,” she said. “There are so many people that experience all types of grief and feel they have nowhere to turn for support, and we want to change that.”

Iowa Lakes Regional Career Academy discussed at board meeting

The Iowa Lakes Board of Trustees met Tuesday afternoon for their regularly scheduled board meeting. Tuesday's meeting was held on the Spirit Lake Campus.

YMCA updates Igniting a Healthy Legacy project timelines

The Bedell Family YMCA Aquatics Center renovation, part of the Igniting a Healthy Legacy Campaign, has been underway since late March of 2022. Restorations completed to date include the replacement of the east windows, demolition prep work, installation of pool and play feature pumps and the pouring and curing of play feature footings. Other renovations are in progress due to shipping and manufacturing delays.

Behrens among Lake Area Tech grads

The 55th Annual Lake Area Technical College graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 13, 2022, with 763 graduates. Dylan J. Behrens of Milford was among them, earning a degree in agriculture. The following students were presented their diplomas by Bryon Noem, First Gentleman of South Dakota, and Mike Cartney, president of Lake Area Tech.

Mobile food pantry returns in June
 
The mobile food pantry from the Food Bank of Iowa is returning again. The free distribution will take place from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, June 2 in the Good News Estherville Church parking lot. Recipients are asked not to arrive before 4 p.m. and to remain in their vehicles — do not line up at the door, because the building will be closed.
