Ethan Kyle Vande Griend, age 24, of Spirit Lake was charged with simple assault at approximately 12:39 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 in the 400 block of 21st Street in Spirit Lake. A criminal complaint said Vande Griend and and a woman were arguing over property in the home when he "pushed the victim out of the way to take control of said property, causing the victim to fall onto the box of property."
