The Okoboji High School Jazz Band placed second in Class 2A during the Iowa Jazz Championships. This year was the 27th time the band qualified for the competition. Okoboji received three Outstanding Soloist Awards: Gwen Gehrke (tenor sax), Lydia Downing (drums), Connor Cunningham (baritone sax). A pair of students were also selected for the Class 1A/2A All-State Jazz Band: junior Grace Downing (trumpet) and sophomore Hunter Hallengren (trombone).
