Harris-Lake Park Superintendent Les Douma called the situation "a tad bittersweet" as he requested the H-LP School Board accept his resignation Monday night.
"I've really enjoyed this year," Douma said. "It's been great. I've enjoyed working in the Harris-Lake Park School District. The students have been outstanding. The staff and the community and quite frankly everybody has been very accepting and very willing to just put up with this old guy if you will."
