Nearly 40 friends and neighbors of Owen, Travis and Bridgette Nelson, children of Dale and Bert Nelson who lost their lives earlier this fall, showed up on Oct. 15 to combine corn in the Nelson’s fields north of Lost Island Lake. Several friends and businesses organized the combining bee, including Ryan and Jamie Eick and Robert Von Ehwegen of DeKalb Seeds in Terril; with support from Kay Hoppe and Tweeters, Liberty National Bank, Pro Cooperative and others.
