Lakes organizations seek bucks for the booms each year

Moonlit waters furnish the backdrop as the Iowa Great Lakes is home to three Independence Day fireworks celebrations each year. The displays aren’t possible without the efforts of local organizations.

The groups ask for donations each year and hope to meet the anticipation of the nation’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Two cities will have lights over the Lakes on Thursday, July 3. West Lake Okoboji will provide the grand finale Friday night.
