Iowa mental health system reforms began July 1
Residents in Dickinson County will notice a change in the way they receive non-Medicaid disability services starting July 1.
Gov. Kim Reynolds signed House File 2673 on May 15, 2024, and the reforms went into effect with the new budget year.
The legislation:
• Combines the work and funding for mental health and addictive disorders in Iowa and
• Replaces 32 separate mental health and substance use service regions into a statewide behavioral health system.
