Iowa lawmakers relaxed local fireworks rules, but stay on private property

Northwest Iowans should have more flexibility when it comes to fireworks for a couple of days this weekend.

Gov. Kim Reynolds on May 19 signed Senate File 303, which prevents Iowa cities and counties from prohibiting or limiting the use of fireworks on July 3, July 4 and Dec. 31.
