Spirit Lake beat out Cherokee for first conference win

Spirit Lake softball picked up their first Lakes Conference victory of the season with a 9-5 win at Cherokee in five innings, finishing just in time to seek shelter before a storm swept over the Doupe Ball Complex.
The Indians wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, advancing Avery Beisell to third and scoring her off a Faith DeWild double. DeWild soon slid safely home for an unearned run before the end of the first inning.
