Girls tennis beat out Spencer, stopped short of state by St. Edmond

Spirit Lake-Okoboji girls tennis battled their way past rival Spencer 5-3 as Regional play resumed on Wednesday, May 21, but may not have left enough gas in the tank in a 5-0 loss to host Fort Dodge St. Edmond to end the Sloth’s season.
SL-O went 4-2 in singles, winning two super-tiebreaks in the third set at No. 4 with Lucy Androski and No. 5 singles with Libby Leinbaugh. The No. 5 singles match went to a 17-15 tiebreaker, well past the 10 points needed.
