A fearless advocate for both the Iowa community college system and his party, longtime Iowa Sen. Jack Kibbie died Tuesday, March 4, at 95.

A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg for Kibbie, whose wife Kay died in 2022. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Ayrshire. Rev. Paul Kelly is officiating.
