County Board of Adjustment unanimously votes in favor of wind farm
The Dickinson County Board of Adjustment unanimously approved the permit for Invenergy's Red Rock Wind Energy Center Wednesday night. The vote clears the way for 67 turbines in southeast Dickinson County.
This decision came after nearly 15 hours of public comment.
The 591-foot-tall turbines will go up 2.8 miles south of Lower Gar and 4.85 miles from East Lake Okoboji. Construction is set to begin this year and developers have a 2027 date in mind to begin operations.
