Seth joined the Dickinson County News as a Staff Writer in March of 2017 and was promoted to News Editor in January of 2021. The Iowa native has won 23 awards for writing, photography and multimedia content. Seth graduated from Iowa State University in 2009 with a degree in Integrated Studio Arts. His original cartoons run regularly in the Spencer Daily Reporter and the DCN, and have been published in newspapers throughout the nation. Matt has been the Sports Editor of the Dickinson County News since January 2014. Since joining the DCN, he has won more Iowa Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Contest awards than any journalist in the state, with 50 awards in more than a dozen categories. Matt is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, cycling and kayaking. He also enjoys spending time with his family and his better half, Tessa. Doris Welle is a former reporter at the Spencer Daily Reporter and a former editor at the Milford Mail/Terril Record and Spirit Lake Beacon. Doris left the newspaper business for 12 years to be the executive director of the Iowa RockNRoll Music Association and Museum, a statewide nonprofit organization. She returned to the Dickinson County News in 2012 as a part-time reporter and lead contributor for The Okobojian, the DCN's companion entertainment guide. Her "Campus Hotline" entries at dickinsoncountynews.com have been recognized with Best Blog awards by the Iowa Newspaper Association. She has been the performing arts event critic for over 25 years, covering the Okoboji Summer Theatre, Pearson Lakes Art Center and Spencer Arts Coalition live shows. Doris raised eight children and now enjoys spending quality time with her grandchildren.
