Budget cuts cancel Milford/Spencer in-person NWS training, but resources still available

Budget cuts meant folding chairs remained stacked for a planned severe weather training session at the Milford Fire Station.

The National Weather Service called off the Severe Weather Awareness Spotter Training planned April 3 for volunteers and responders in the Spencer and Milford areas.

Todd Heitkamp, a Meteorologist in Charge for the National Weather Service, scheduled four webinars for anyone in the NWS Sioux Falls coverage area instead.
