Mikayla Brockmeyer of Spirit Lake graduated from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine on May 24.

Brockmeyer also was nominated by other DMU students for membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society for being a leader in the practice of humanism. She will soon begin a residency in internal medicine at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Central Iowa.
