Running is more than just a sport for Krishauna Allen, a Jamaican native, but a part of her life since age five. 
This fact made it harder for the Okoboji senior to pause her passion for track when a hamstring injury sidelined her in April, taking her out of running three events at the Drake Relays. 
“I felt God had a reason for why I got hurt,” Allen said. “It built my team up and made them stronger, prepared them for the future. It hurt, but there was a reason for it.”
